Don't try THIS at home...

~ OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER! OH my!!!!!!!!!  This ordeal of loosing my sisterlocks has been absolutely insane.  It is EXTREMELY time consuming.  Check this out, I am ALMOST---HALFway there!!!!!  Can you believe that?  My sister-in-law and I have been working on them together.  I have also been working on them alone.  We have succesfully loosed 97 or so sisterlocks within approxiamately 12 hours.  This is no joke people!!!  So of course I had to reschedule my appointment.  My consultant prefers starting fresh from scratch, instead of doing just half of my head.  I must say that I do agree with her.  The locks in the rear are very small so hopefully I will be able to take them out without any added problems/complications.   I really had no idea how difficult this would be.  I guess this is definately a time where my patience will be tried.  I have about 227 more sisterlocks to loose.  I have 9 days off before my now "new" install appointment date.  I will not reveal the date because I will be extremely upset & dissappointed if for any reason I have not successfully  completed this task by then, although I will keep you posted.
The locks are intermittently placed large, medium and small.  The parts are very crooked, so this all motivates me to continue to press on.  It takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes (give or take) to loose ONE lock, depending on what size you get.
So in the meantime I purchased a wig to wear to work.  It happened to be straight hair with highlights in it.  The colors were nice, but I am absolutely THROUGH with fake hair.  It felt awful.  I felt very uncomfortable wearing it.  I can't really explain it.  I felt like I was walking around with a clown on my head.  I know it may sound funny, but it really annoyed me.  So I have decided to wear stylish caps to work.  You know the kind that traditional lock wearers use to capture their locks.  Something like a lock sock to hide where I haven't finished, but stylish enough to still match my scrubs and look professional and presentable.  But as for a wig, I just can't do it.  Everyone is different, and I am not knocking those that do.  I just know it makes ME feel like a fish out of water in a desert somewhere stuck in a cactus.  I guess I will post pics later.  (Lord help me!)

Besides that, check out my daughter's Sisterlocks.  They are coming along beautifully!  She is still loving them! The braidout style is her absolute favorite. I am so happy for her journey and self love!
She also wears it up too!
In this pic she is being rewarded as a TERRIFIC KID in school.  We are so very proud of her. She is so sweet, polite, smart and very much a kid.  As always, every kid still needs discipline and guidance.(Staight A's, Girl Scouts, Math Wizards, Star Performers, gymnastics, basketball, chorus, junior church secretary & usher.)
